Iftar Meal
Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims when breaking their fast after sunset during Ramadan.
Al Ras in Old Dubai is one of the most congested areas of the city but at sunset time during Ramadan, it transforms into a quiet, peaceful place. Mosques, local communities, groups of neighbors, private businesses provide free meals every day for the poor people and workers. The food is placed on the pavement of the streets for them and anyone else who wants to join and break his fast. Everyone is welcome for iftar, as long as there is a seat available.
Thousands of charity iftars are held throughout the month across all the Emirates however those in the Old Dubai area provide truly authentic and unique Ramadan experience. It is a different world.
